Hover Zoom
  • Greetings,
I'm using hover-zoom addon and I would like to display the image name (text over image) over the image thumbnail for each picture.
    I'm using Webplus 8.

    Thanks for your help

  • Chris,

I don't think is possible due to the fact a hover over the thumbnail actually then enables the hover to the larger image, and you can't call 2 actions for one instance of a hover function.

Not even adding extra code to call a title="your text" to sit along side the default code of alt="your text" works, so I'm afraid you are stuck with the default settings.

    Hope this helps
  • Hi Mick,
    thank you for your reply!
I tried the following code to display at least the image names above the thumbnails, but the thumbnails are not aligned anymore. Each image is now as if it is with one line below the previous one!

    <li><img src="hover-zoom/RASTST01.jpg" alt="" /></li>
    <li><img src="hover-zoom/RASTST01-1.jpg" alt="" /></li>
    <li><img src="hover-zoom/RASTST02.jpg" alt="" /></li>
    <li><img src="hover-zoom/RASTST03.jpg" alt="" /></li>
    <li><img src="hover-zoom/RASTST03-1.jpg" alt="" /></li>

Is there a way to get the images (with the names) aligned.
    Thanks again
  • Chris,

You are adding code to the actual html frag code that controls the addon, therefore, without massive css edits throughout the css already added to the html frag box plus maybe even the js file as well, you will always cause issues with alignments and other problems.

Your easiest option is to add a text box directly above the addon frag box and adjust the alignment and spacing in between each of the pieces of text to be relative to the thumbnail images, as shown in the snapshots below.

If you tried to place the text "over" the thumbnail, then it would still show once the larger image pop upped and would then clash with the text for other thumbnails and just wouldn't look right (Shown Below), this is because you have no code to disable on hover and enable in normal mode, you are basically asking for something that the addon was not originally designed to do and the above solution would be the best way forward with out some major code revamping of both css and javascript.

    Hope this helps
